Healthcare, will it change with republicans in it?

OK, we are done with elections and people wanted change when you see Jim Oberstar a 18 term Democrat getting beat and in Wisconsin a well respected senator Russ Feingold getting the boot.  The main change people want is a better economy and more jobs.

What about Healthcare?  Jom Boehner wants a repeal of the Obamacare.  The big difference is simple.  Obamacare is government funded healthcare, while the Republican want more of a private based insured care.

The problem I see is they don’t address the underlying issue.  They address who is going to take care of you if you get sick.  This is a sickness based paradigm of care.  It doesn’t have anything to do with what you need to do daily to stay healthy and avoid the sickness model of care.

Both parties are funded heavily by the drug and insurance companies and the food companies which make bad food.  They have to scratch each others backs to survive.

The best way to solve this issue is to not get stuck where you are dependent upon the system.  Eat, move, and think better on a daily basis is what it takes.  You don’t here any party talking about that.   Those big companies don’t want us healthier, they want us sicker so then we need their products.  How about making your own garden or just getting to the grocery store and add more veggies to your diet.  Your blood sugar, cholesterol, waist line would all get better plus you’d be able to feel and function better.

We have to make a change in how we live our lives, that’s what’s going to make a difference, not the politicians.  I’m here to lead you to better health.  Get on board and we will show both parties the real solution to get health care.

It was another bad weekend for my alma mater with Ohio State trouncing the Gophers.  See the picture below of me and Ohio State’s #1 fan.  There was more Ohio state fans in the bars and around the stadium before the game than Gopher fans.  I was amazed how many people fly to road games.    I just sent a letter to the president and all the regents discussing what I think they should do to improve the program.  I’ve been going to games for over 40 years, I played their, and I want to see them do better and compete.  They need a big time coach and make football a priority.  Until next time, be healthier today than yesterday.  Dr. E

  • Mike:

    Great article doc!

  • Ed Neubauer:

Hi, Steve. I think we are in sync…health care is a personal responsibility…eat right, exercise, sleep well. Then there will be much less need to worry about paying doctor and med. bills. Ideally the pharmas won’t be needed. Medical docs are needed for repair from accidents etc., but our bodies are designed to heal themselves when properly nourished; a truly, marvelously designed mechanism.
    Continued good health to you.

  • Thanks Ed. Keep taking great care of your self!

Mary and I have had a blast watching the boys and girls track team here in Osceola.  The sectional meet was last friday and it is great to see kids competing. Some kids are injured, some kids are sick, some kids are nervous, some are confident.  You never quite know what will happen at a track

Last night the boys and I watched the homerun derby and we loved every monster shot by some of the biggest  youngest strongest stars  of baseball like Prince Fielder  and Joe Mauer.  Prince won the competition going away and he hit one over 500 feet.  He swings so hard I feel he's going  to c
