Do this one thing to jump start your metabolism

It was another incredible weather weekend. I with it stayed like this all year. Also, a great football wekend. I was busy friday , saturday, and sunday doing football games with Riley and his buddies. We also got Connor his first car. It’s a 1992 Lexus LS 400 and it’s got a ton of miles on it but rides great and is in mint condition. He’s very happy but knows if he doesn’t get B’s in school that means no keys. I sure hope he takes better care of his care than I do. I’ve been good about taking care of the caddy but the aurora I just kind of let it go after 150,000. Here is Connor and his proud new old car.

This is the one thing you must do if you are going to lose weight. You must have a protein based breakfast to start your day. That means within 30 minutes of rising in the morning you need to fuel your body. I recommend protein to be the base of your morning breakfast. Eggs if you are not sensitive to them, meat, chicken, fish are great sources of protein. I love to add veggies since they are packed full of anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins. No cereal, milk, or any junk food like donuts. Basically you can eat the same meals 3x a day then snack between meals with a little stone fruit or berries, nuts and seeds. This will help regulate your blood sugar and keep your adrenals from being even more stressed. If you want to jump start your metabolism don’t skip meals, and keep your food more protein based and add a ton of veggies and you will be on your way. Add some resistance type of exercises such as body weight exercises and watch your body change. If you have a goal of losing weight, lets say for example you want to lose 50 pounds I’d prefer you to lose 1 pound a week for a year instead of a quick loss of weight and then plateau.

Did you get your exercise in today? I posted that statement on facebook a few weeks ago and got a ton of responses. Many of you are doing your workouts. I’m telling you, you do not have to do tons of cardio to burn fat and get in great shape. Body weight exercises such as bootcamp which I do every m,w,f, at Wild River Fitness is an incredible 45 minute workout. Come join me. You’ll have to get up early though because it starts at 5:45am.

The Chieftains are 4-0 in football. Watch out Durand on friday night. How about those Gophers being 3-0. Their first big test of the year comes up this Saturday home against the Syracuse Orangemen. The Badgers are struggling. They should have lost that game against Utah State. Come on Big 10, you have a reputation to defend.
