Dog days of summer
The Romans in ancient ti mes celebrated the “Dog days of summer ” from July 24th thru August 24th. I just googled dog days of summer and on wikipedia it came out with some fascinating history about the dog days of summer. Well the hot hot humid dog days are here. I’m looking for a brief break with the heat and the humidity this weekend when buddies form high school will be coming over. Grilling in lower humidity is much more fun. remember to drink a ton of water during the dog days and if you are out working out get your workouts done early.
I haven’t put a post out for a couple weeks. I first got really sick, just 4 days of bad flu like symptoms. That is the first time in 20 years I’ve taken time of because of illness. I’m not used to getting sick and can’t imagine people who have chronic sickness. I do not like being dependent on others but it was nice having Mary help me out for a few days. My energy is back and it was so great getting adjusted when I felt so bad. Chiro adjustments are one of the best things you can do when you are sick. They activate your immune system and all your achy joints will feel much better.
I’ve have a weight loss program that is really geared to address the underlying causes of weight gain. Everyone I’ve seen does not eat breakfast. All the high school sports start in 2 weeks. My son Riley is starting his sophomore year in football and he’s been working hard as the other student athletes have with the OHS bigger, faster, stronger program. We didn’t have that when I was in school. We kept in pretty decent shape playing baseball and hoops but I’ll never forget those dog days of summer 2 a days with Coach O’Donnell. I’d be sore sore and would dread those bear crawls and monkey rolls. I still struggle doing those at bootcamp. Those first 2 weeks of high school football are the worst. If you can get through that you can get through anything.
