Successful start to your day.

I bet most of you got to bed a little late last night if you watched the entire Packer Viking blowout. I was in bed by end of 3rd quarter. Riley had 6 am basketball practice this morning, and even though I thought the Vikes defense looked good at times they are no match for Rodgers and that Packer offense. Rodgers can easily make you forget about Favre, fast.

I stopped by school about 7:30 this morning to check on big Lincoln to see how he is moving with basketball practice. He’s doing fantastic. He’s got a bit to go yet, but what a recovery he has made from the devastating injury that occurred 7 weeks ago. There is no way he would have been able to recover like this without the ARP treatment. If you want to learn more about this just stop on by and check it out.

As I was leaving the high school I saw 4 young students walking in to school with their 22 ounces of coffee from stop-a-sec. I asked them if that was their breakfast and they said everyday. When I was in school 35 years ago I don’t think anyone drank coffee. I don’t think I had my first cup until I was 30. As I then drove by stop-a-sec you could see a line of kids getting their coffee. Coffee is an adrenal stimulant with a half life of 16 hours. If these young people are already getting a fix of coffee in the morning it really adds stress to their physiology even though they feel it may help them. The best way to feel you don’t need a coffee fix in the morning is to get to bed at a consistant time, and avoid all other adrenal stimulants during the day. Adrenal stimulants can be overtraining which many kids are in sports and they are doing 2 a days right now. Not eating breakfast is an adrenal stimulant also. Not having anything to eat until noon and they are not going to have any energy for their practice in the afternoon. I recommend for all of you regardless of age to have a protein based breakfast. For the vegetarians out their you can do a ton of greens and how about a rice protein shake with mixed fruit in it. For those of you who like meat, eat meat, chicken, or fish for breakfast and stay away from the cereals. remember grains are inflammatory. I like eggs, meat, and as much veggies as you can eat. Stone fruits are out of season so a handful or pint of blueberries would be great. Get to bed by 10pm and start your day with a protein based breakfast and you won’t need to coffee to get you going.

How about those Badgers smoking the Gophers this past weekend. Bad weekend for Minnesota sports. What is incredible about going to a Gopher home football game is I feel that it is an away game when you see half the stands filled with red and white and much more boisterous, I think coach Kill is heading in the right direction, now if he can only get good recruits. I would not want his job, managing 18-22 year olds. Look for an interview with coach Kill in an upcoming edition of the Valley Wire.
